Group Therapy

Depending on your situation and needs, group therapy may be an ideal choice for addressing your concerns and making positive changes. Our group therapy sessions offer you the opportunity to grow and change in a supportive community, where you will be able to explore what is really going on in your life and discover fresh ways of thinking and acting.

In group therapy, you will be working with one of our therapists and a group of 10 – 15 individuals who share your concerns. Our groups typically meet for an hour or two each week. Some people seek individual therapy in addition to group therapy, while others participate in group therapy only. We find that our group members are almost always surprised by how rewarding the group experience is. It can be a relief to hear others discuss what they're also going through, and realize you are not alone.

Some reasons to seek group therapy:

  • You want a support network and a sounding board as you work through a difficult situation
  • You need a community to hold you accountable for taking positive action
  • Talking and listening to others can help you put your own problems in perspective
  • By seeing how other people tackle problems, you may discover a whole range of strategies for facing your own concerns
  • You want expert guidance from a trained therapist, which a self-help group cannot provide
  • If you've been involved in individual psychotherapy and your progress has stalled, joining a group may jump-start your personal growth

If you are wondering if group therapy might be helpful for you, please call us. We look forward to talking with you.
