Dr. Shannon huddleston

I believe in the power of holding space for people. When stories can be shared and witnessed by a patient, unconditionally supportive, and open heart free from judgement, that is when true healing can happen.

My beliefs about people being the experts on their own lived experiences guides a lot of my work. As a therapist, I strive to help people work through problems and overcome challenges in life, no matter how big or how small they may seem. By working collaboratively, I believe clients can face any problem or challenge in life and experience the benefits of a genuine connection with a non-judgmental, supportive person.

I earned my doctorate degree in clinical psychology from John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, CA. I have trained and worked in a variety of settings including community mental health agencies, pre-schools, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and supported housing communities. I have experience treating a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, job-related stress, educational problems, life transitions, and family stress and conflict. I feel that my experiences working with a wide range of people and problems helps me approach clients' issues with an open mind and heart.

I hope that my clients get to experience the power of having their personal stories truly witnessed by another human being, which I find can often lead to healing and growth. As your therapist, I will work closely with you and/or your family to explore the various ways problems have influenced your life, and together we will identify your strengths and resources needed to achieve your goals, hopes and dreams.
